The Hidden Negs Project

Being exhibited in a gallery is not an easy thing to do and neither is getting known in the field of art photography. This is the reason why I have chosen to look for an alternative way of getting to you: welcome to the Hidden Negs project.
What I did was to ask people I’ve met these past few years, people who like my work, to hide negatives in books, magazines and other publications here and there in Europe. If you are here now reading these lines, maybe you have found one.
If you have, this negative is yours. It is a present from me and you can do whatever you want with it. All I ask in return would be to share some of your time with me and tell me where you found it and the circumstances that led you to be there in the first place. I do not know where these negatives have been hidden by my friends nor when (or indeed if) they are ever going to be found.

If you wish to contact me because you have found a negative, use this email address: hidden@cdillinger.co.uk.

Thank you.

If you want to participate and get a negative to hide (like Helen is doing in the Polaroid shot opposite), email me a postal address. You’ll also get a kind of record sheet for the hiding of the neg. It is not compulsory to fill in this sheet, but if you decide to make an event of it, you might wish to document it and share it with the rest of the Hidden Negs enthusiasts. Here is a kind of template to help you.
